“Basically, service to me has been to offer myself as a resource to help build and sustain a healthy community, whether that be through financial commitments to organizations or individuals, or volunteering as a JET Express driver, organizing events and programs or serving in a lay leadership capacity. “

Cathy currently serves as a project manager for the KC Communities for All Ages program, an age-friendly community initiative of Mid-American Regional Council (MARC). Currently, twenty local jurisdictions have developed policies and programs to address current and future needs of an increasingly large older adult population. She is a frequent speaker at local and national events on age-friendly principles and practices. Her previous employment in the Kansas City region includes the Jewish Heritage Foundation, (delete) the Midwest WholeChild Development Group and serving as executive director of the National Council of Jewish Women – Greater Kansas City Section. She currently serves as chair of the Sustainability Commission for the City of Mission, KS. Her past volunteer work ranges from serving as a JET Express driver for Jewish Family Services to serving on the boards at Congregation Beth Torah and Jackson County CASA. She was an active community and PTA volunteer during her years as a stay-at-home mom with her daughter Jill.
