‘My community work was ongoing throughout my career. After 50-plus years in business, I decided to retire, only to find myself not ready to stop!”
Christy’s career in business included Montgomery Ward, Hallmark, and serving as Vice President at Boyle’s Famous Corned Beef Co., where she set up their Steak Box program, whose customers included Bea Arthur and the President of the United States! After retirement, she set up her own “steak box” program, shipping steaks all over the country. She also is a pet-sitter and has become known as the “dog whisperer” to some of her clients. Her community work includes membership in Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years, holding every office on their board. For the past 14 years, she has also sat on the Parking and Transportation Commission for Kansas City, MO. She currently serves as treasurer of the Historic West Bottoms and has worked with many Kansas City Chiefs charities.
