“Being a part of the Home Delivered Meals team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. When the phone rings that a substitute is needed, that means I’m going to do something necessary and important that day. It takes so little of my time, and it means so much to the clinets. The warm smiles and heartfelt ‘thank you for doing this’ brighten my day.”

Ed (nicknamed Butch) is indeed an invaluable member of the Home Delivered Meals program, providing a much-needed service to hundreds of older members of our community. He is a native of North Carolina and was designated a Naval Aviator in 1969. He served two deployments to Vietnam, followed by many assignments from coast to coast. He retired from the Navy in 1993, when he returned to Overland Park. He and his wife Mary celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this past August, and they are the parents of three sons, Ted (wife Heather and granddaughter Lilly), Andy (wife Melissa) and Mike (wife Anna.)
