Clayton

Smith

“As a youth, I discovered the best way for me to serve God is by serving others. It has been my privilege to serve others as a pastor for over 50 years. I humbly suspect that serving others will be a lasting legacy for me.”

Clayton’s service as a pastor, a volunteer and a leader stretches from local service in his home church in Chillicothe, Missouri, to outreaches around the world. He has participated in mission projects in Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico and Honduras, and just three years ago represented the Overland Park Rotary Club in a Friendship Tour/Project to Cape Town, South Africa. He was a senior pastor in congregations throughout Missouri for 25 years, was executive director of the Resurrection United Methodist Church Foundation from 2005-2018. In the past six years, Clayton has authored three books helpful to those serving in ministry. He and his wife have four adult children and three grandchildren.
