Whitney Kerr, Sr., a senior director with Cushman Wakefield, has been active in the commercial, industrial and land brokerage and development business for more than six decades. He played a part in assembling the land for Crown Center, Grace & Holy Cathedral, the Power & Light District the 290-acre Cerner Innovative Center and others. He was one of the four original developers of the Corporate Woods Office Park in Overland Park.
Whitney assembled 23 acres of land in downtown Kansas City in partnership with Perot Group of Dallas, Texas and worked to extend Bartle Hall over I-670. The Bartle Hall extension, the Kauffman Center and the new Loew’s Hotel now occupy the major portion of that land.
Whitney served as a Junior Warden at Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral for 19 years. He also served as the director of St. Luke’s Hospital for 42 years and has served as chairman of Westport Today of St. Luke’s for 20 years. He served seven years as chair of the City Plan Commission of Kansas City. He is the past chair of the board of trustees of Missouri Valley College, a past president of the Kansas City Museum and has served as a director of several community and real estate organizations.
Whitney and his wife, Day have a wonderful family of 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
