David Boone also known as Dave, is the former president and committed member of the KC Running Club Board who helped develop Hospital Hill and the Brew to Brew running events. As a life time runner/walker, he has logged 10,000 steps every day in 2020! Dave has ran 7 marathons including the prestigious Boston Marathon. Recently, he has worked with the Running Club and Sister Servants of Mary to organize "Blisters for Sisters" with over 200 religious joining for a two mile walk/run in Kansas City, KS. Currently, he is the Communications Director of Holy Spirit Parish (Overland Park) Knights of Columbus where membership has grown from 30 to 380 under his leadership and example. For 38 years, he has been an active member of the Shawnee Mission Rotary Club. He served as club president in the late 80's and was very active at Camp Enterprise which is a Rotary youth camp activity. Every Friday morning since 2007, he have facilitated a Men's scripture study. David and his lovely wife, Joyce, have been married for 56 years. They are parish captains for Pro-Life Activities and have led Holy Spirit Parish in the annual 40 Days for Life for the past 15 years. In 2009, Dave and Joyce were honored by the state of Kansas Knights of Columbus as the state's Family of the Year. He is proud of his 45 years of service with the financial rating firm Dun & Bradstreet where he was a field agent for 30 years and a trainer for 15 years. During his tenure, he spent 25 years in the service of youth through Junior Achievement and Project Business. In that role, he spent a day each week teaching Johnson and Wyandotte County students and faculty interviewing techniques, business etiquette and performance expectations in a professional setting. Because of his selfless contributions to others so that they can reach their fullest potential, Dave made it possible for young people to prepare for a life in the business community.
