Rosemary McDaneld, a retired teacher who still tutors English learners, is active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also active in her church, Ward Parkway Presbyterian, where she has taught Sunday school, she sings in the choir, served as a officer and as a member of the Pastor Nominating Committee. Rosemary also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ward Parkway preschool, a mission of the church. Always a leader, she has been active in the PEO sisterhood where she served as an officer in her chapter for many years. She believes in life-long learning and is a member of several book clubs.
If it’s the 4th Wednesday of the month you know where Rosemary McDaneld will be – at Crosslines Community Outreach. Rosemary is a dedicated volunteer who always coordinates the lunch delivery from Ward Parkway Presbyterian church. This can be making and serving lunch at the kitchen, or, during the pandemic, coordinating hundreds of sack lunches from a variety of volunteer sandwich-makers. Recently, when the Crosslines kitchen started serving hot meals again, Rosemary secured volunteers to make casseroles and dessert. She never forgets the cookies for the hungry homeless men and women.
Rosemary also saw that Crosslines was moving their in-person gala to a virtual gala and they needed silent auction items. She solicited her friends and church members to help this worthy cause. Rosemary is an inspiration to young and old because of her positive, can-do attitude and her example of service for those in need.
