Bob & Candy

White

71 & 71, Devoted

Candy and Bob White are a dynamic duo in Lee’s Summit, Mo. Before they retired, both were educators in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District. Since retirement, they have become very involved in the community, particularly with the Lee’s Summit Symphony. When the Symphony needed leadership, they stepped forward and have served tirelessly in various capacities to ensure its future. The couple offered to become co-directors and found a new venue with greater seating capacity, improved storage, lighting, sound and various other amenities. During the current pandemic, they are working to offer virtual concerts as they continue to keep the community and musicians involved. Bob served on the LSR7 school board for six years, and Candy is a community advocate for early childhood education. Both have served on city committees to improve the community’s quality of life. In addition, the couple is involved in their church and with the Truman Heartland Community Foundation.
