Joseph

Community involvement and helping people is what motivates Joe. He is actively involved with a great many non-profits, all of which he supports with his time, talent and donations. He began his community service by working with foster children at Wyandotte House in Kansas City, Kansas.

For many years, Joe has offered guidance and support for myriads of non-profits including St. Teresa’s Academy, reStart, JerusalemFarms, Avila University and Kaw Valley Center.

In addition to serving on Avila University Board of Trustees, Joe mentors students that are first generation college students, to ensure they have a successful college experience, which will lead to their future success. The additional mentoring and assistance is instrumental in making a difference in their lives.

Before retiring, Joe had a stellar career while at JM Fahey Construction. He has always gone the extra mile to make improvements in the heavy construction field. While working, he served as President of Heavy Constructors Association of Greater Kansas City and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Since retiring, Joe’s level of activity has not slowed but he has redirected his energy to helping organizations with which he has given a lifetime of service.

He leads quietly by example and invites others to join him in service. Joe is always looking to be involved in the community and have a positive impact on Kansas City.
