Unrestricted contributions are the fuel that enable nonprofits to pay staff and keep the lights on to deliver our critical and essential programs.  These gifts help support KC Shepherd’s Center’s most basic organizational needs that are rarely eligible for grant or foundation support.  While contributions to specific programs are greatly appreciated, contributions to our operational and administrative needs are the lifeblood of our ability to achieve our mission.  If you would like to make an unrestricted contribution, please indicate that clearly so we are able to apply it to our greatest needs.  Click here to make a donation now.

IRA, stock, or donations of investments:

Sharing your wealth to help seniors in Kansas City through stocks, bonds or other investments allows us to invest in the future of KC Shepherd's Center.  We are so grateful to those who have invested in our work and work hard through our Finance Committee, Board of Directors and financial partners to ensure the perfect balance between investment income and protection against market fluctuations for long term success.

Corporate sponsorship or in-kind donations:

Let KC Shepherd's Center help your business be seen promoting purposeful aging through sponsorship and in-kind gifts of products and services to KC Shepherd's Center.  From event and program sponsorship to corporate presentations for workplace giving to drives for holiday bags and food for area seniors - there is no limit to how we can help you achieve your corporate objectives for community investment while achieving our mission to empower mid-life and older adults to live healthy, engaged and independent lives.

In honor or memory of someone special:

There is no better way to honor your parents, grandparents, family and friends that to designate a gift in the memory of someone special to KC Shepherd’s Center.

Legacy gifts:

Your planned gift will help ensure that older adults age well for decades to come. Any individual, at any time, can create a legacy gift. It can be as easy as naming a charity on the beneficiary form of a savings, checking or pension account, or through a more complex instrument such as a trust. Please consider making a general or residual charitable bequest to KC Shepherd’s Center in your will.  No amount is too small; it truly is the thought that counts.  If you need legal assistance in drafting your legacy documents, we will be happy to refer you to area elder law or trust attorneys familiar with the process.

To make a bequest to KCSC, simply include these words in your will:

“I give to Shepherd's Center of KC Central, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, located in Kansas City, MO, ____% of my estate for general purposes.” OR "I give to Shepherd's Center of KC Central, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, located in Kansas City, MO, $ ____ of my estate for general purposes."

To create a residual charitable bequest, use these words:

“All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to Shepherd's Center of KC Central, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, located in Kansas City, MO, for its general purposes.”
