Janet Baker, is named in the Ingram's magazine philanthropy issue as a 2020 Local Hero.

Updated: Feb 9

Janet leads a dedicated staff and a diverse team of seniors-serving-seniors volunteers that help active and homebound older adults live healthy, engaged, independent lives. Each day, they deliver Meals on Wheels to 400 older adults, provide Medicare counseling to more than 1,000 beneficiaries, connect seniors with phone pals or friendly companions and more. In each aspect of her work, it's clear that Janet's love for Kansas City and its people is deep, and the level of her energy, creativity and professionalism is high.

On behalf of the Kansas City Shepherd's Center board of directors, staff and especially the amazing volunteers and the wonderful older adults served by KC Shepherd's Center every day.

Congratulations and thank you, Janet Baker.
